Communications Specialist...

Job Goal:  To support Region 6 ESC instructional services, educational initiatives and curriculum management through effective and efficient print, digital, and face-to-face communication, marketing and promotional materials, contract oversight, and multimodal strategy integration at the region, district and campus levels. 

Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field; Master's Degree in Education or related field (preferred)

Texas Teacher Certifications

5 or more years classroom experience

Special Knowledge or Skills:
  • Experience facilitating face-to-face and virtual professional learning opportunities
  • Ability to identify and make recommendations to school districts on instructional practices and campus program implementation
  • Experience creating and designing high quality programs, promotional materials, resources, and presentations
  • High degree of professionalism including strong public relations skills 
  • Ability to establish rapport and work in collaboration with public schools, ESC, and TEA personnel
  • Presentation and public speaking skills for the delivery of professional training sessions
  • Ability to use technology effectively including digital learning platforms and design software
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks with minimal supervision
  • Willingness to travel                
Major Responsibilities or Duties:
  • Technology support for Leadership, Learning & Accountability Department ยท       
  • Provide staff development and technical assistance in technology support and integration with appropriate follow-up to ESC Region 6 staff and ISD's
  • Serve as a resource for administrators, instructional leaders, and educators for information regarding effective instructional practices
  • Create, design and deliver high quality programs, promotional materials, resources, and presentations
  • Participate and attend state-level trainings and meetings
  • Collaborate with Region 6 staff members to ensure alignment of all supported practices and methodologies
  • Brand, market, and promote Leadership, Learning and Accountability events for the purpose of maximizing participation registration
  • Stay up-to-date on the most current, applicable information from TEA and ESC 6 with regards to supported programs, practices and initiatives
  • Oversee-manage contracts for Texas Statewide Digital Instructional Resource Consortium. Including Discovery Education, Canvas, Bright Bytes, Schoology, Kickup, & Gabbart
  • Design and maintain the Leadership, Learning and Accountability web pages and social media accounts       
Supervisory Responsibilities:
