Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.• Master’s Degree in Education (preferred).• Texas State Teacher Certification.• Early Childhood Texas certification.• Experience with Early Childhood (EC), the Prekindergarten Guidelines, Kindergarten TEKS, instructional coaching, data
collection, and reporting preferred.
• Minimum of five years teaching experience
Special Knowledge & Skills• Knowledge of Early Childhood State & Federal Regulations.• Ability to provide professional development to educators using effective presentation skills.• High degree of professionalism including strong public relations skills.• Ability to establish rapport and work in collaboration with public school and ESC personnel.• Ability to work on multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
• Ability to use technology effectively.
• Willingness to travel.
Major Responsibilities• Provide staff development and technical assistance in research-based instructional strategies and content with appropriate follow-up.• Provide training in state content standards for Prekindergarten and Kindergarten.• Provide staff development and technical assistance in long range planning, reading/language arts curriculum alignment to the TEKS and STAAR, and implementation of the TEKS.• Serve as a resource for teachers and administrators for information regarding early childhood, literacy trends and materials, assessment data collection and reporting.• Provide instructional coaching as requested.• Attend conferences and meetings as appropriate.• Provide support to schools inputting data into the ECDS system.• Perform other duties as assigned.Terms of Employment
Pay commensurate with experience. Pay Grade 5.
